What do I need to bring on the horse drive?

Question 3

How much does the transfer cost?

Accepted Answer

If you do not want to rent a car, we will pick you up in a ranch vehicle and transfer you to the ranch from Idaho Falls, Idaho (Airport or Hotel).

Pick-Up Time: Monday at 4pm (either at airport or hotel)
Drop-Off Time: Saturday Between 10-:30 - 11:00am (either at airport or hotel)

The cost of the transfer service is $150 USD per person.

Can I bring beer or alcohol on the horse drive?

Accepted Answer

Yes! However, we do not provide any alcoholic beverages at the ranch. Before arriving at the ranch, we will stop at a store where you can purchase alcohol and bring it with you to the ranch. We will have a cooler with ice where you can store it.

Do you accommodate to vegetarians and / or food allergies?

Yes! If you are a vegetarian or have a food allergy, please let us know and we will make plans to accomodate you. We can't wait to ride with you!

Is there a weight limit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you must be under 240 pounds and able to get on and off your horse without a mounting block.

Do I have to share a room / tent?

If you come by youreslf we will most likely pair you with somebody of your same gender to share your accommodations with. Each cabin and tent (while on the trail) will have individual beds. If you are completely uncomfortable sharing your accommodation please let us know before hand and we will see what we can do.

What happens in the evenings after the ride?

Each day after the ride you will arrive back at either the cabins or a campsite welcomed with a cold beverage and homemade treat! You then have time to relax, bath in the shower (while at the cabins) or bath in the stream (while on the trail). You have this time to do whatever you would like until dinner. Some popular things to do include relaxing by the fire, practicing your roping skills, playing horse shoes, going on a walk, or simply enjoying the outdoors.

What is the weather like?

The ranch is located near the Targhee National Forest (in the mountains). The days are usually quite warm and the nights tend to cool off a bit. However, always come prepared becaues the weather can change fast in the mountains. We recommend bringing warm clothes just in case.

Is there WIFI or Cell Phone Signal?

No, there is no WIFI and no cell phone signal. however, if you get high enough on the mountains while out riding, you can get service for a brief second if you must stay connected.

We have satellite iternet and phone for emergencies at the ranch.

Question 11

What is your Cancelation Policy?

Accepted Answer

To secure your spot for the Silver Spur Ranch Horse Drive, a non-refundable deposit of $2,000 USD is required.

The remainder of the payment is due 15 weeks before arrival and is also non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your reservation to another available week before your 15-week payment deadline, but 50% of the remaining blance will be due at the time of transfer and the invoice will be updated to reflect the current Horse Drive rate. Alternatively, you may transfer your reservation to another participant, subject to approval.
